Several ancient coins from this auction formerly belonged to Mr. Michel Eddé (b. 1928) who, after graduating in law from the Saint-Joseph University in Beirut in 1948, became Minister for the Post and Telecommunications and Minister of Information in 1966-1968, Minister of Information again in 1980-1982, Minister of Culture and Higher Education in 1992-1996, and Minister of Stater 1996-1998. He has also been president of the Ligue Maronite 2003-2007, chairman of the newspaper L’Orient – Le Jour since 1990, and ‘Grand Officier de la Légion d’Honneur’ since 2012. Vente aux enchères
